Global Austin-Healey Sprite Registry

About the GAHSR

9-19-07 Back in the early 1980's Rick Moses created SPRITE Newsletters and with the help of lots of Sprite enthusiasts has been running a Global Austin-Healey Sprite Registry (GAHSR) ever since. Borrowing personal times when the registry needed to be put on a "back burner," hundreds and hundreds of Sprites have been registered. Over this time the Registry has gone from registry papers in a boxes from numerous clubs around the world, to a computerized data base. Currently the GAHSR is undergoing more updating. It is also being transferred to another newer more powerful database system. This new “living” Austin-Healey Sprite registry is in the construction stages here on this site. We plan to share much of the registry's data, pictures and contact information. In the near future we would also like to provide the registered Sprites with a registry windshield/bumper sticker. Won't you please share your Sprite through this registry for the enjoyment of all Sprite enthusiasts?

Thank you for registering your Sprite with the GAHSR !

DATA STORAGE

The information you have provided has been recorded and saved in two ways. First, it has been placed into our new SPRITE Microsoft Access database. If you have previously registered your Sprite then your information will be updated with anything new you have sent to us. Second, it has been copied on paper and filed with any photos you have sent by your last name and your Sprite's AN # or HAN #. Each Sprite registered has its own leafed clear plastic protector file.

KEEP US UPDATED at least yearly.

It is our desire to have a 'living" Sprite registry. The information in the GAHSR will be kept accurate, timely and up-to-date. We ask your help with this endeavor by contacting us with any changes with your registered Sprite/s and at least once a year even if there have been no changes. To that end we will also regularly check with you through the contact information you have provided.

PRIVACY

By completing the GAHSR information form and sending it to us you agree to allow us to share your information with other Sprite enthusiasts around the world for our collective enjoyment. As an example, we may place pictures of you, your car, the description or stories you give us about your car and other registry and personal contact information about you on our website, in our SPRITE Newsletters, at our every 5 year SPRITE gathering extravaganzas and other SPRITE projects.

If you would prefer that we do not share some part/s of your GAHSR information PLEASE, IMMEDIATELY, contact Rick Moses, GAHSR Registrar by email or nation wide toll free phone # 877-748-3165 (that number is 8 SPRITE 1MK). Let Rick know what information you would like to be kept private and what can be shared.

We will also attempt to guard your privacy by various other methods. If there is some particular way you want us to handle your registered information, above what we normally would do as noted above, let Rick know. If somebody wants more information about you or your car than what we share on our website, Newsletters and SPRITE projects we will contact you and ask you to contact them.

Be assured the SPRITE GAHSR database will not be given or sold to anybody, clubs or businesses. Any contact/s you may receive would be through information you have allowed us to share publicly.

COMING SOON

How about a small colorful GAHSR windshield sticker? Check with our website for the announcement at <www.austinhealeysprite.org> in the near future.

TELL ANOTHER SPRITE ENTHUSIAST about the GAHSR and SPRITE !

There were thousands of Sprites made. Help us find as many as we can for our GAHSR. Through SPRITE we strive to honor the Austin-Healey Sprite through all the various SPRITE activities and projects.

Thank you,

Rick Moses, GAHSR Registrar 9-19-07

Updated 11-26-07: Bought AN5L/564 in the late 1970's as a spare tub for my SCCA racing effort. Quit racing in 1981 but kept her as the tub was rust free (from California).
Four years ago my old (and I mean OLD)racing buddies talked me into restoring her. I finished June 4th, 2007, put 35 miles on the engine, loaded onto the trailer and drove to Vermont for the Austin Healey Conclave! Phew!!!
I restored her to the original color and interior because of finding out that she was the 63rd Bugeye built. However, since I had raced I needed to upgrade to disc brakes, a 1275 cc engine and Datsun 5 speed. I remembered the 948 "rubber band" wind up car's performance!
I had a great time restoring her - remembering where all the nuts and bolts went, taking apart the dip switch 'cause I always wanted to know how they worked, fitting the 9 pin top so all the Lift-a Dot's were lined up, remembering how much I didn't like bodywork.
The best part - I now have my own Bugeye to thrash around in!!
